Leidy Zamora is an advocate for African diaspora empowerment, positive visualization and racial justice. During art school, Leidy carried out psychosocial ethnic-cultural empowerment workshops to Afro-Colombian children from a very vulnerable settlement in Santiago de Cali intended to raise self-esteem and strengthen ethnic-cultural identity. As a Colombian Pacific native, she knows how both intergenerational trauma and ethnic-cultural identity can affect every facet of one’s life. As a current political science undergraduate at ICESI University, Leidy is interested in social-political activism, gender equality, racial justice, world development, linguistics, and International Relations.
