BWDW: Challenges of Directing

9AM PST, 11AM COT, 12PM ET, 2PM BRST, 6PM SAST

Presenter: Wanuri Kahiu

This In-Conversation session explores the complex challenges directors face as they migrate from the local stage to the global market. Wanuri Kahiu, an award-winning Kenyan filmmaker, will use her personal experience as a case study to highlight the difficulties that arise when creating locally vs internationally, directing a short film vs a feature film, and most importantly facing the challenge of ensuring one's voice is not lost in migration or translation.
